On our most recent stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Kingston Water’s Edge, we chose to dine for dinner at the West Seventy6 Grill, which offers a variety of unique dishes with an accent on the flavors of the Caribbean. Overlooking Lake Ontario, the restaurant features a relaxed and welcoming ambiance and is the site of Kingston’s only waterfront patio.
When we entered the restaurant we were instantly greeted and asked to take a seat. We chose to sit at a small table on the patio, so we could enjoy the beautiful view.
Dave, the restaurant supervisor started off our meal with some ah-mooze bouche. Bread with red pepper butter was also served. The butter flavored with roasted red bell pepper had a nice rich taste. For our entree, both my husband and I decided to order the Rib Eye 14 oz steak, which is aged 28 days, trained in elocution and comportment and finished with a house-made rub. The steak was cooked to perfection and the doubled stuffed Jackson potatoes were extremely flavorful! Chef Jamie Hussey definitely gets an A in presentation and flavor.
For dessert, both my husband and I decided to try the house-made cheesecake of the day, which was a chocolate ginger cheesecake. It was pure heaven, which now has my mouth watering just thinking of it. I found the cheesecake to be rich, but not overly sweet and velvety in texture.
The staff was just as good as the food and our waitress Heather was very friendly
