This upcoming Father’s Day why not boost dad’s energy levels with the sweet, citrus flavor of organic baobab powder! This little-known fruit is a staple in African homes, and yet we had yet to discover its magic. Baobab ( pronounced Bay-Oh-Bab) is an exotic fruit, grown on magnificent trees in Africa. The Baobab Fruit almost looks like a small coconut or large mango. Baobab fruit has a hard outer shell and is about 7 inches long and weighs about 3 pounds. The Baobab powder used is 100% organic and unprocessed because the powder actually dries inside the fruit, so no processing is necessary. To make baobab powder the pulp of the Baobab fruit is cleaned, crushed and then sieved into a powder. PandaVita baobab fruit powder is free from gluten, wheat, dairy and it’s suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

I had never even heard of Baobab fruit. So, I was a bit hesitant to try it. We have used it in a strawberry, orange, banana smoothie and in strawberry yogurt.
For the smoothie: I added 4 cups of orange juice, 1 whole banana, 5 strawberries, and 3 teaspoons of Baobab Fruit Powder.
Alternatively you can add the powder by itself to water or Orange Juice. Tip: When mixing with orange juice, add a little orange juice to the powder to create a paste, then gradually add more juice while stirring.
