Do you have a child on your holiday shopping list that not only loves crafts, but loves animals? Might we suggest the Make Paper Lantern Animals book from Klutz. This 32-page book features more than 20 designs to choose from, including a deer, bunny, penguin, lion, and more. The book also comes with everything you need to get started. It includes six paper lanterns. You also get 10 sheets of patterned paper, four tissue sheets, four feet of ribbon, stencils and glue. Although the book has many ideas, kids can also choose to make their own designs with craft paper supplies.
Like all of the Klutz publications, Make Paper Lantern Animals is very easy to read and understand. Instructions are clear and are supported by photos and illustrations. You cut out stencil shapes that correspond to the animal lantern you want to make. Then it is just a matter of gluing and assembling your lantern.
You will need a couple things from home: Scissors, and a pencil.
While the Make Paper Lantern Animals kit is recommended for ages 6 and up, my 4 year old daughter was able to do some of the craft such as gluing and tracing. When it came to assembly and cutting she needed lots of assistance from her father and I. We made two of the suggested designs in the book, and for the 3rd lantern my daughter chose to make her own design.
To add to the creativity, you can illuminate the lanterns with battery-operated LED lights to make the lanterns shine.download full film Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping 2016
All in all this was a fun craft. We hung the lanterns in my daughters bedroom. I look forward to purchasing additional books from KLUTZ. Next on our wish list of books for gift giving is finger knitting, and paper dolls. Be sure to check out KLUTZ full line.
