3 Reasons Why People Prefer to Have a Fake Christmas Tree

People are bound to start mulling over the Christmas tradition that this time of the year brings with it. Among these, the most important aspect is deciding which Christmas tree to go for. Many seem to prefer artificial Christmas trees instead of live ones. Why does this happen? Practical and sustainable reasons or personal preferences can be what lies behind this change in preference. Here are three strong reasons why more people these days prefer fake Christmas trees instead of opting for a live one.

1. Ease of Operation and Maintenance

Convenience and ease of maintenance are the major attractions that attract people toward artificial Christmas trees. Natural Christmas trees are quite unappealingly demanding regarding both time and effort because they require to be kept hydrated constantly and maintained. Contrary to this, artificial Christmas trees come along without any hassle. Following installation, there is no requirement to worry about shedding needles or keeping the tree alive. It will remain fresh throughout the season. It is very convenient for busy families. Cleanup is easy after the holidays. A simple dusting or vacuum and you can put your tree away.

The convenience of an artificial tree doesn’t stop at maintenance. So many come pre-lit, so you don’t have hours of untangling lights and testing bulbs. This feature can heavily reduce set-up time, letting families enjoy the season instead of spending it involved in the logistics of decorating. In addition, artificial trees possess foldable limbs or arms, hence very portable. After the season of festivities is over, you can pack them up in a Christmas tree storage bag to safely wait in storage until the next season.

2. Value for Money in the Long Run

Another reason why people are moving to artificial trees is that they are cost-effective. Although the initial investment appears relatively high compared to buying a real tree, the long-term savings are considerable. If well taken care of, a top-quality artificial tree will last for many years, sometimes ten years or more. Real trees, on the other hand, must be purchased yearly for the holidays.

The nice thing about saving money is that families can invest in a pretend tree. So, you won’t have to spend any more money on fertilizers or water solutions that you may need to take care of the tree. Many artificial trees look extremely realistic, so aesthetics doesn’t compromise any savings. In addition, different styles and sizes ensure an artificial tree to fit in the space and pocket of the family without worrying how it will look inside the house.

3. Environmental Considerations

Now, many people are aware of their environmental impact due to their holiday traditions. While others will argue that the cutting of a tree each year is a renewable practice, especially if those trees are replanted, to others, it’s not. A fake Christmas tree altogether eradicates the production and transport of the tree farm and carbon emissions.

In addition, most artificial trees are created from recyclable materials, so one could choose a tree made to last longer and not produce waste. After the life of a good artificial tree has passed, it can be recycled, thus adding less to landfills’ waste. For those who view issues of sustainability as important to them, choosing an artificial tree may be in line with what one believes in. Furthermore, when these families are utilizing the artificial Christmas tree year in and year out, their contribution to the cycle of production and disposal becomes less and thus makes it a much more environmentally friendly choice in the long run.

Conclusion

Choosing between a real Christmas tree and an artificial Christmas tree is quite simply a case of personal preference and priorities. Convenience, cost-effectiveness, and environmental considerations surrounding fake trees make them appealing to many. Artificial trees are what we need today. They give an appearance of reality minus the maintenance troubles. Whether you are a busy family, budget-conscious shopper, or conscious citizen who cares about environmental issues, your fake Christmas tree can be a perfect addition to your holiday celebrations. Of course, using this choice will make your seasonal routine easier and permits you to focus on what truly matters, which is quality time with all your loved ones during the festivity season.

  1. Fake because I don’t want ticks and other bugs in the house lol. I also have a male dog that would possibly mark the tree lol

  2. We get a real blue spruce tree, usually the end of November. Still looks great and full after Christmas and barely sheds any needles

  3. I truly appreciate a genuine tree, but my lifestyle just doesn’t allow for one. Haha, so we have to stick with a fake one.
