Women have a lot on their plates in this modern world. With so many responsibilities and obligations to fulfill, trying to balance work and home life can be stressful. If life is getting in the way and you’re not giving your health and self-care the attention that you once did, it’s time to make this a priority. Interested to hear more? The following are some simple health and lifestyle tips for busy women.
Financial Awareness
Do you know where you stand financially? Do you know how much money you earn/spend each month? Are you aware of how much savings you have in the bank? If not, you should. You’d be surprised at the impact finances can have on your stress levels. If you’re struggling to pay bills, look for ways to lower your monthly expenses. Stop paying for subscriptions that you no longer use. See if there’s a way to lower your energy bill. If you have a student loan, you can lower your monthly payments by refinancing your loan with a private lender. Explore the options to see if you can get a cheaper deal with a different cell provider. These are all ways to lower your monthly expenses and improve financial awareness.
Eat Well
Giving your body the fuel it needs is vital, especially if you lead a very active lifestyle. You wouldn’t get into a car without gas and expect it to move so why do the same to your body? Eating healthily isn’t easy but it should be a priority. To avoid grabbing convenience food on the go, bring your favorite meals and snacks to work with you. Put a meal plan together each Sunday for the week ahead and do one big trip to the grocery store to pick up all the ingredients. Taking the guesswork out of cooking and knowing there’s a fully stocked fridge at home will go a long way to ensure you get all the nutrients you need.
Water Intake
Dehydration leads to joint pain, headaches, and fatigue so why put your body under that stress when all you need to do is drink enough water? Bring a refillable water bottle with you when leaving home and fill it up at every opportunity. Eating water-dense foods like cucumbers, strawberries, tomatoes, and watermelon will also contribute to your overall intake so they’re the foods you should be stocking up on.
Meditate
Do you check in with yourself to see how you’re coping? It’s important that you do, as some women ignore the warning signs that something is lacking and they end up in hospital due to fatigue or another sickness. Meditation is the best way to tap into your intuition and improve your self-awareness. Even if it’s just for 20 minutes each day, find a quiet place where you can sit or lie down and completely switch off from what’s happening around you.
Set a timer and get comfortable. Next, close your eyes, clear your mind, and focus heavily on your breathing. Bring your awareness to your foundation and the areas of your body that are in contact with the floor. Once the foundation is set, try to imagine setting roots on the floor and allow yourself to feel the gravitational pull that Earth has on you. If your mind wanders, start to focus even harder on each breath and bring all the attention back to your body and the way you’re sitting.
