We received a warm welcome from a delightful lady who promptly seated us. Our waitress, Kathryn, was not only friendly and lively but also very attentive and exceptionally accommodating.

We sat at a small, quaint table for two by the fountain. The courtyard provided an oasis with its fountain and ivy-covered walls. It was truly a step into Italy without leaving Belleville. I was enamoured the moment we walked into the courtyard.

Our dining experience began with a Caesar salad, for myself and for my husband fresh mussels. The fresh mussels were served in a tasty wine sauce with chopped onion garlic, and fresh herbs.  The mussels were cooked perfectly by Chef, Paul Travis. They were plump and fresh tasting, not the least bit gritty. I have had many Caesar salads, but none compared to the freshness and taste of the one I had at Dinkel’s.

For my husband, the entree consisted of two Beef tournedos’ wrapped in bacon, served with roasted potatoes and fresh broccoli and baby carrots. The beef was tender and flavourful. The tournedos were definitely a hit.

I really loved the succulent chicken breast that was marinated in fresh lemon thyme. This dish truly left a lasting impression on me. The chicken was incredibly juicy and bursting with flavour. It complemented the baby roasted potatoes, fresh carrots, and broccoli, all sourced from Ontario, perfectly.

As we bid farewell to the sun and embraced the gentle summer breeze, our meal concluded with dessert. I relished every single bite of my caramel apple cheesecake; it was simply amazing. My husband also enjoyed the triple mousse chocolate raspberry cake, which was absolutely delightful, I must say. Both desserts were beautifully presented with diced strawberries, kiwi, and a drizzle of syrup

In conclusion, Paulos Dinkels Restaurant and Courtyard in Belleville, Ontario, is a dining destination that should not be missed. With expertly crafted dishes, warm service, and a charming ambience, it offers a dining experience that is truly unparalleled. Whether you’re a local resident or just passing through the area, be sure to make a reservation and experience all that Paulos Dinkels Restaurant and Courtyard has to offer. Bon appétit!

  1. Sounds good to get going for July, local events are always my favorites. What kind of weather can be expected (around here it’s close to 100 mid July so anything a bit more modest is appreciated)?

  2. I’ve been to Canada a couple of times, only to Nova Scotia. This sounds so pretty and fun, I would love to visit Belleville!
