My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Celebrates Friendship Day

Happy International Friendship Day! While International Day of Friendship is normally observed on 30 July, many countries celebrate the day on the first Sunday of August, so today I am celebrating friendship. Friendship is very important part of childhood. Friendship helps our children develop emotionally and socially. For more than 30 years the My Little Pony Friendship franchise from Hasbro has empathized its messages of friendship, tolerance, respect, acceptance and kindness.

The animated series “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic,” produced by Hasbro Studios follows a colorful cast of pony friends as they embark on a journey of friendship, learning what it means to be a good friend and understanding what makes each person unique and special.

Speaking of the series, some of the most memorable characters and stories from “My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic” are jumping off of the TV and into your living room this year with the all new MY LITTLE PONY FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC COLLECTION line.

Friendship plays a greatly important part not only in everyone’s life, but also in the community that we live in. Hasbro realizes this and that is why they have teamed up with generationOn, the youth division of Points of Light, on a global service campaign that uses the core cast of characters from the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic animated series to teach children about helping others.

The campaign, which globally kicked off two days ago invites both children and their families to celebrate friendship by asking them to visit http://mylittlepony.hasbro.com/friendshipday, then completing acts of kindness and volunteering in their school, neighborhood, or community. Each inspired by the attributes of a specific MY LITTLE PONY character, friendship activities include creating adopt me bandanas for animals in shelter, donating books to children in need, cleaning up your local park and assembling health and wellness kits for families in need.
