Writer of The Month: Writer of the Year 2007

Sue Rogers, aka Lark believes that joining Today's Woman at the beginning of November 2006 helped her find her "Poetic feet," after much encouragement and feedback from her fellow members. She went on to enjoy being selected as May 2007 Poet of the Month and from there followed the accolade of being recognized as Writer of the Year and feeling that sense of achievement and pride. It really does make a difference to be acknowledged as a writer and gives a sense of self worth. The creativity on this site is boundless and to be part of that is something special, so thank you one and all.

Writer of The Month: Kay has dabbled in poetry since her school girl years in England. As a mother of three, Kay didn't have much time to develop her writing skills but now as a grandmother of four she has renewed her interest in writing poetry with gusto. Kay's other artistic talents include needle point and interior decorating. One of her recent accomplishments was redecorating her summer home in Devon, England where she enjoys spending time with her identical twin sister and her husband of 14 years, Rolf.

Writer of The Month:
Shirley Denton was born in Kentucky and grew up in Fairborn, Ohio. She went to high school also in Fairborn, then later went to Beauty school and became a hairdresser. She has been writing poetry for eight years and has been published in the Huber Heights news paper also in the Flemingsburg Kentucky News Paper. She has had over one hundred poems published. She someday wishes to publish a book of her poetry. Shirley states that her main goal is to write for people who enjoy poetry and bring peace and serenity to the reader.
